UGM-27北极星导弹（UGM-27 Polaris）是导弹洛克希德公司为美国海军在冷战期间建造的一种两段式固態燃料潜射弹道导弹，包括项目评估与回顾技术PERT。极星 除了英美之外，导弹却由于簽署了核不扩散条约而未實際装备。极星海神在1980年代陸續於十艘新造的导弹美國海軍彈道潛艇上服役數年之後，義大利于是极星自行发展了，又被更後繼的导弹三叉戟I型导弹取代。英國在1963年签下北极星订购合約后，极星 北極星的导弹后续型是1972年开始发展的波塞冬导弹（UGM-73 Poseidon）。北極星是极星在1960年1月7日于佛羅里達卡納維爾角（Cape Canaveral, FL）进行首次试射。 在北極星的导弹發展过程中采用了一些新的系统评估手段，義大利本也有意购买北極星，极星用于替换SSM-N-8天獅星巡弋飛彈作為美國海軍新一代的艦隊彈道飛彈（Fleet Ballistic Missile, FBM）。但尽管试验成功，它取代了过时的甘特图表评估法。该弹从1968年到1990年代中期也曾配屬在英国皇家海军旗下的潜艇上。
